TF Fall Trend–The Bootie
The bootie is the Fall 2008 trend for shoes. We first saw them on the runway last year and now fashionistas all over the world have taken to these leg extending accessories. The "shoe boot, as some like to call them, are best worn with short skirts or skinny jeans and have been seen on celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna. The question at hand, however, is can they work for a tall diva? Of course they can!
The main issue with booties, or any shoe that finish around the ankle, is that they can make your legs look chunkier than they really are. Therefore, if you have thick ankles or wide calves go for a style that fits you-specifically one that is neither too chunky nor too dainty. Also you should pair them with a skinny jean or a skirt that ends above the knee. Also try and create the illusion of slimmer legs by matching the bootie color to the color of a pair of opaque tights for a lean, fluid look. Below is a list of reasonably priced (under $100) booties for Fall.
